LCDs in Business
LCD stands for liquid crystal display. It pertains to a flat and thin panel that is used to display text, images, videos and other types of information. LCD modules and products are used in many industries including business and residential.
Since the first active matrix LCD panel was produced in 1972, there had been a birth of a new industry that never ceased to slow down since then. LCD display module manufacturing companies kept on improving LCD products to the extent that the world, which was already impressed of the LCD technology when it was first created, was kept in awe up to the present time. In business, LCD monitors are being used to display images, texts and presentations for corporate conferences, meetings and even advertising. As compared to using whiteboards, chalk boards and illustration boards in showing visual aids in a corporate meeting, LCD monitors are great for creating an impressive display of information.
Not so rare that we see slide presentations and small video commercials of products being displayed on LCD monitors at grocery stores, boutiques and shops to promote certain brands. The idea behind this is to attract and somehow persuade the people who are currently inside the store or premises to buy the products being promoted. Wide screen LCD monitors are also used to display important announcements for every one else to see, instead of using bulletin boards. This is because moving pictures and presentations tend to be more eye-catching than papers pinned onto the surface of a bulletin board.
Categories of Material Handling Equipment
MHE or material handling equipment refers to all equipment that is used for the movement, protection, control and storage of materials and products within a site or a facility. Material handling equipment can be classified into five major categories which include transport equipment, positioning equipment, storage equipment, identification and control equipment, and unit load formation equipment.
Given the names of the five categories, even a woman who doesn’t have any background in the mechanical industry will be able to understand what the equipment and machines that fall under each category do. Transport equipment refers to the devices and machineries used in conveying or moving materials and things from one place to another. Examples of transport equipment are cranes, conveyors and industrial trucks. Positioning equipment on the other hand, is used to handle material at a single place to assure that it is in the correct position for the following handling, transport and storage. Unit load formation equipment is used to restrict the material so that it can maintain its condition while being transported, handled or stored together with other materials as one unit.
Identification and control equipment is essential as it is used to collect and communicate information which is needed for the coordination of the flow of materials, while storage equipment is used for holding or containing materials over a period of time.
